Required documents

1. Visa application form (Click down to download) duly filled out electronically only (not by hand), printed, dated, and signed;

2. A recent identity photo (35 millimeters wide by 45 millimeters high);
3. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months and accompanied by a photocopy of the first two pages;

4. Proof of residence in the Netherlands of less than three months for the applicant or one of their parents when it concerns a minor (-18 years): Rental contract or electricity and gas bill or water bill or Internet bill. Failing that, the applicant must provide a BRP less than 6 months old;

5. A reservation from a hotel establishment only or a certificate of accommodation**, accompanied by a photocopy of the Algerian identity card of the host (the same document used for the legalization of the certificate). If the host is a foreigner residing in Algeria, copies of their residence permit and passport must be provided;

6. Proof of professional situation: Work certificate or pay slip or school certificate or certificate of receipt of retirement, disability or unemployment pension.

7. Proof of income: Bank statement dated within the last three months in the applicant's name (for children under 18 and students, they may attach a parent's statement). The balance on the statement must be sufficient to cover all accommodation costs (a minimum of €40/day excluding hotel expenses is currently required***);

8. A round-trip transport ticket to Algeria (in some cases, the applicant is exempt from presenting the plane ticket until notification of the visa grant agreement);

9. A travel insurance certificate in the name of the applicant mentioning Algeria as the destination country and including a minimum of 30,000 euros in coverage for medical expenses and medical repatriation in case of accident, illness, and repatriation of remains in case of death. This certificate must cover the entire validity period of the visa. Insurance certificates can be obtained from your insurance company, your bank, or a travel agency;

Visa fees can only be paid by credit card at the Embassy (they vary depending on nationality, age, passport type, duration of travel, and number of entries). Visa fees are not refunded if the applicant cancels their visa application for any reason, and also if the Embassy refuses to issue a visa.

Very Important:

- For applicants who do not hold a Dutch passport, proof of legal residence in the Netherlands must be provided, through:

• For nationals of countries exempt from the residence permit requirement in the Netherlands: Presentation of a BRP (Basisregistratie Personen) certificate issued by the municipality of their place of residence and dated within the last 6 months;

• For nationalities other than those listed above: you must provide a residence permit valid at the time of application and on the expected expiry date of the visa.

- For minor children under the age of 18, the application must be submitted by one of the parents, who must present the child's birth certificate (Uittreksel or Akte van geboorte) or family record book and a photocopy of it to prove parentage;

- **The accommodation certificate must include the host's surname, first name, date, and place of birth, as well as their identity document details, their address, and telephone number, as well as the surname, first name, date, and place of birth of the foreigner  who will be hosted, their passport details, and the period of stay. The document must have been legalized within the last three months at the municipality of the place of residence,

- Incomplete applications and those that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted or processed.

- The Embassy reserves the right to request, in writing, by email, or by telephone, any other document not mentioned in the list above and any additional information it deems necessary to process the visa application.
