Study visa

The following documents are required:
1. Visa application form (click down to download) duly completed (electronically only/not by hand), printed, dated, and signed;
2. A recent identity photo (35 millimeters wide by 45 millimeters high) glued to the form (no staples);
3. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months, accompanied by a photocopy of the first two pages;
4. Proof of residence of less than three months in the Netherlands for the applicant or one of their parents when it concerns a minor (under 18 years old): Rental contract or electricity and gas bill or water bill or Internet bill. If not, the applicant must provide a BRP less than 6 months old;
5. A certificate of enrollment in a public or private educational institution accredited by the Algerian state;
6. Proof of financial resources: a scholarship certificate issued by the Algerian authorities or the authorities of the applicant's country, or a bank statement dated within the last three months in the name of the applicant or their parent, accompanied by a written commitment of support established by the latter and legalized by the municipality. The resources must cover the study expenses and living expenses;
7. A travel insurance certificate mentioning Algeria as the destination country and necessarily including guarantees related to the coverage of medical expenses and medical repatriation in case of illness, and the repatriation of remains in case of death. This certificate must cover the entire validity period of the visa. Insurance certificates can be obtained from your insurance company, your bank, or a travel agency.
8. The payment of visa fees is made only by credit card at the Embassy (They vary depending on nationality, age, type of passport, duration of travel, and number of entries). Visa fees are non-refundable in case of cancellation of the visa application by the applicant, regardless of the reason, and also in case of refusal of visa issuance by the Embassy.
Very important:
- For applicants who do not hold a Dutch passport, proof of legal residence in the Netherlands must be provided through:
• For nationals of countries exempt from the residence permit requirement in the Netherlands (for example, Schengen Area countries): The presentation of a BRP certificate (Basisregistratie Personen) issued by the municipality of the place of residence and dated within the last 6 months;
• For nationalities other than those mentioned above: it is necessary to provide a residence permit that is valid at the time of the application and on the expected expiration date of the visa;

- For minor children under the age of 18, the application must be submitted by one of the parents who must present the child's birth certificate (Uittreksel or Akte van geboorte) or the family record book and its photocopy to prove parentage;
- The Embassy reserves the right to request in writing, by email, or by phone, any other document not mentioned in the above list and any additional information it deems necessary for the processing of the visa application.
- Incomplete applications and those that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted or processed.
