H.E. Ambassador Salima Abdelhak delivered a statement at the closing of the 110th session of OPCW/Executive council , expressing Algeria's satisfaction with and support to the positive outcomes of the meeting, notably the consensual recommendation for the appointment of a new leadership, particularly the consensual recommendation for the appointment of a new leadership — a female Director-General of the OPCW. 

She reaffirmed Algeria’s strong support for the Organization and its leadership in advancing its noble mission of ensuring a world free from chemical weapons, and underlined the essential qualities expected of the new Director-General — in particular, integrity, inclusiveness, respect for international law, and the promotion of dialogue and multilateral cooperation within the Organization.
