Algeria has ratified the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (Apostille Convention).

By the decision of the President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria has ratified the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (Apostille Convention).

Following this, and by delegation from the highest authorities, H.E. Mrs. Salima Abdelhak, Ambassador of Algeria to The Hague, on 5 November 2025, officially deposited the instrument of accession with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, in its capacity as the depositary, during a distinguished ceremony, in the presence of Mr. Christophe Bernasconi, Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law.

This step reflects President Tebboune’s vision to modernize public administration and combat bureaucracy, while facilitating the authentication of documents for citizens and strengthening cooperation between Algeria and its international partners within the framework of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH).
